What a Collagen Protein Powder Can Do for You!

We’ve all heard that you start losing collagen the older you get (early 30s, yikes!). But did you know you could put that collagen right back into your body? I didn’t, without the use of surgery or injections! Wellness-Please is taking protein powder to the next level with added collagen. See what this collagen protein powder can do for you!

I was really excited to try out this protein powder because I am turning 30 this year and would like to stay in the best shape and as healthy as I can. I am definitely noticing more cellulite and lingering fat after two babies. It’s getting harder to lose weight (and keep it off), as well as eat healthy because of our lifestyle.

Don’t get me wrong, we are a very active family and I go to the gym several times a week (for both physical and mental health). My children are very young, so we are either going, going and going or hanging out around the house if the day seems too stressful to venture out. Sometimes we like to stay home and lounge around. Lounging usually does not evoke healthy eating. There are a lot of quick, not always healthy, snacks around the house.

Some days I eat really good, some days I eat like a middle school boy. There was a point after pregnancy when the only meals I ate throughout the day were Chick-fil-A, goldfish, apples and peanut butter, ice cream and chocolate milk. Not very healthy for a 30-year-old mother of two. It was a lot easier to eat healthier when I was a bit younger and only had one child!

Since I am only getting older, have been through two pregnancies and have two children, I have to be creative about how I get those healthy nutrients. I take vitamins daily (Flintstones and B12 for energy). But I’m really bad about getting protein. For me, the easiest way to get protein is through meat, and you have to prepare that. If I don’t have time to prepare it, I won’t get it.

I’ve been trying Wellness-Please’s collagen protein powder for over two weeks now and I gotta say, I think it’s working pretty well! It’s the only thing I’ve been consistently doing, and I am definitely leaner. I’m getting more protein and my joints don’t hurt quite as much as they did before I started taking it.

Here are all the perks:

  • Literally the healthiest protein powder on the market (Gluten free, keto friendly, cage-free chicken, grass-fed bovine, marine collagen, egg shell + bone broth)

  • Preserves lean muscle

  • Boost energy + cuts recovery time after work outs

  • Reduces joint pain

  • Keeps arteries flexible + improves circulation

  • Aids hair (and nail) growth + reduces hair loss

  • Can hydrate skin up to 12%, smoothing lines

My favorite way to incorporate this protein into my diet is by mixing it with my morning “coffee”. I say coffee very loosely because I don't really like the flavor of coffee, I like flavored creamer. So I add some coffee to my cream and sugar and throw in some collagen protein powder for a morning pick-me-up.

The reason this is my favorite way to incorporate it is because it’s unflavored protein powder and is made with eggs and fish. I do not eat eggs and fish. It’s not an allergy, it’s a personal preference. I know eggs have tons of great protein and are full of amino acids, but I am just not a fan. I cannot stand to eat them by themselves.

When I put this protein powder in a smoothie, it did not taste the same as regular whey protein powder would taste. It just tasted bad, in my opinion, kind of funky. I felt like I could taste the eggs and fish. But since coffee already tastes unpleasant to me, I couldn’t taste the powder at all. It mixes really well and is super easy to take in the morning, with minimal effort.

It’s really versatile being “unflavored” because you can add it to pretty much any drink, but you can also add it into food and soups! I haven’t tried it that way yet, but I bet it tastes great in a quiche or casserole! You can find out more about this collagen protein powder at wellnessplease.com
