Sephora Product Review
Talking about my sort of recent beauty purchases today! It was that time again, time for new foundation and powder. Normally I would try to find the best drugstore brand, but I had a $25 gift card to Sephora (always a good idea) and knew I could get good quality products from there, even if they are a little more pricey.
I ended up going straight to an associate because she would know exactly what I was looking for, and could help me find the best prices. We went with Sephora’s line because it was the most affordable and met my needs. She recommended a basic, lightweight, oil free, 10 hour foundation in my skin tone. That's the amazing thing about Sephora; they have technology that can accurately assess your skin tone without having to try on a bunch of products. Then she suggested a setting powder. This powder is white, and doesn't have any base color. I chose this because I just need something to set my foundation, not necessarily cover anything up. The powder is also supposed to dispense only a specific amount at a time. Which I thought was a great idea, because it is a loose powder. The idea is, when you close the lid, it pushes down a button and releases the exact amount of powder that you need for coverage. No matter how long that button is pushed down, how many times it's sloshed around, it should still only release the same amount. Let's take a look at my review of these products.
10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation
This foundation is everything I wanted it to be. It's lightweight, and it has good coverage without looking caked on. It really does stay on all day. Plus, it matches my skin tone perfectly. Definitely a win, and a product I would use again. It's $20, you can check it out HERE
Smoothing Translucent Setting Powder
I really like this powder, because like I said in my description, it's just a setting powder. I don't have two layers of color on my face. It's also lightweight and doesn't feel caked on, but still gives me the coverage of a powder. This powder also has a fresh clean scent, which I love. The problem I have with this powder is the little button that is supposed to release a certain amount. It does not work. If it gets knocked around in my bag for too long without me using it, I have a big pile of powder when I open it. But that's really my only critique about this powder. It's just annoying because it's not supposed to happen. This powder costs $16 and is perfect for all skin tones. Check it out HERE
Well, I hope you guys liked my review. I love going to Sephora, because they are so eager to help you find the products that are perfect for YOU. It was a great experience, and I did not feel like the sales lady was pushing me towards more expensive brands (which you would kind of expect them to do). I told her exactly what I was looking for, my price range and she was totally helpful. I would highly recommend going to Sephora for your makeup needs in the future.
