70's Boho Inspired Look

70's Boho Inspired Look

Since I'm not shopping this month, I get to play dress-up with the clothes already in my closet. Which is probably what most people do anyway, but I've just gotten into the habit of buying new clothes all the time that I really have no idea what's actually in my closet. So I'm really looking forward to creating some new and fun styles that are already represented in my wardrobe. Take this 70's Boho inspired look for example.

I decided on this look, because I really wanted to wear this new blouse while mixing it with some thrifted threads. This top is actually from Target’s spring line and I've had it for months. That's what I mean, when I say I have clothes in my closet that are new but I haven't even worn yet. And it's sad. What's great about this blouse is it could also double as a fall peace. I love how thin this top is for spring, but still gives you coverage if you need it.

Now, onto the thrifted threads. I found these Gap jeans at a local church thrift store, but they weren't in great condition and I didn't like the fit (not a bootcut girl - skinny all the way). So, I turned them into shorts. I also needed jean shorts more than I needed jeans, so it was well worth the effort. That's another tip for things you can be on the lookout for at thrift stores; things that can be repurposed. If you're crafty and like DIY's, jeans are a great item that you can give new life to. You could do what I did and just alter them to fit your needs (capris/shorts), or you could even make them into pillows or tote bags. These sandals were thrifted at Goodwill, and they were brand-new left over from Target’s clearance. I always love finding brand-new target stuff at the thrift store, it's my favorite!

I have to say I am really digging this 70s BoHo look I've created. This is not unusual for me to rock a bohemian/hippie inspired style. I just think it's so  laid-back and flowy. Add some bagels and you're good to go.

How are y'all doing on the thrifty challenge?! No idea what I'm talking about? Look it up HERE. I've already got a couple applicants; don't make it easy on me to choose a winner! Get thrift shoppin' and rememeber the guidelines:
