Gliss Review
I joined a new product sampling community back in December. You may remember it from my previous post about how to legitimately get products for free. It's a company called BzzAgent. The idea is the same as most other influencer/product giveaway companies. They have you fill out your personal profile, take a million surveys and pair you with products they think will work for you and you'd be interested in. You in turn, get the product and have to post on various sites (theirs, social media) and write reviews. Well, I finally received my first product from them and I'm here to tell you all about it! I was sent the Gliss Hair Repair, Extra Volume, Lift-Up Spray by Schwarzkopf. Now, I had never used nor heard of this product or brand. I had no preconceived ideas of what type of quality item I was getting, or even where you could get this from. So, I was completely unbiased going into this review. I found that I did like the product and it does work, but it was extremely temperamental to get it to it's fullest potential. Here's what I think about it.
A little background on my hair type, I have naturally wavy hair (which is generally how I wear it) to which I sometimes add mousse to help keep the wave. I did that in this picture, as well as add the Gliss spray for extra lift. As you can see, it did add a little volume, but only the tiniest bit that I could tell.
The second way I tried it, I flipped my hair upside down, sprayed the product in and used a flat brush to blow it dry. I dried my entire head this way. That worked better, but I don't usually blow dry my hair, so that took more time out of my day than I would normally spend. It would be great for me to use for a special occasion though, because this look does not take that much time comparatively.
And finally, it worked the best and gave me the most volume when I blew my hair dry with a round brush and split it into sections. I flipped my hair upside down, and sprayed in the product all over. Then, when I was sectioning off my hair, I also reapplied the Gliss spray to the roots and then blew dry each section. This was SO time consuming that i wouldn't say it's worth it to put that much effort into my hair every day just to use this product. BUT this product does work and give you extra lift, I just had to work to get it. And it also smells amazing and leaves my hair silky smooth all day. It also keeps the style for a few days if you don't wash it. If you already do those things that I consider "time wasters" everyday, then this is the spray for you!
I really did love this product for the full volume and thick straight mane it gave me, but it took me close to an hour to accomplish it. As a busy mom, who only has a little over an hour for nap times, I would rather spend my time blogging or tidying up the house. What's a product that you use to get maximum volume? Would love to hear in the comments below - bonus points if it's not a lot of work ;) <3 Amanda
