Comfy Statement Maternity Tops
So, this summer I shared a lot of maternity dresses. It's really hot and humid here in South Carolina, like 90°+ hot, so dresses are a must in general. Even getting into the early fall months it's still extremely humid and uncomfortable. But, when it cools down, there is nothing more comfortable to me than a loose blouse, jeans/leggings and ankle boots (especially during pregnancy)!
That's why I chose to stock up on feminine statement tops for fall and winter. It's so easy getting ready in the morning when I can reach into my closet, pull out a blouse and know it will go with any of the pants I own. Just add some booties and I am ready to go.
I have created my maternity wardrobe with everyday basic bottoms, so I can have fun tops that always coordinate. That way it looks like I have more pieces than I actually do. I only have 2 pairs of leggings (one of which is maternity), and 6 pairs of maternity jeans/pants (3 are from my last pregnancy - yes, I saved them!). But when you throw in all the different statement tops I have, it creates well over double the outfits!
Take for example these pieces from one of my favorite online maternity boutiques, Pink Blush. I chose these pieces, because they are comfy, perfect for fall, and will transition nicely into winter. Plus, I can wear these after pregnancy, as they do not have built-in ruching for baby bumps. Even more uses for these fun statement blouses!
I love this lightweight sweater with the lace up sleeves! It's so perfect for southern weather. The "lace up" trend is really popular right now, especially at the neckline. But with a huge baby bump, I'm not sure how attractive that will look during pregnancy. So, since I love the trend, I thought the detail on the sleeve would be a safer option. So glad Pink Blush thinks of everything!
I was really excited to get this floral top. Although it is comfy, and has the most beautiful pattern, it is too big on me. I am shorter than the average woman, and definitely shorter than the women who model these pieces. This top is longer on me, and is a very loose fit. The smallest size Pink Blush offers in maternity, is a small. If this were a size XS, I think it would fit more to my liking. I am really looking forward to wearing this after pregnancy, because I think it will lay better - more like a tunic.
Make sure to take a look at all the beautiful pieces Pink Blush has to offer; for pregnancy, nursing and non-maternity! What are your favorite fall comfort pieces? Leave me a comment below! <3 Amanda
